St. Elizabeth Healthcare is poised to open a multimillion-dollar medical center in Dearborn County, Ind.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare will hold a grand opening April 10 for the Northern Kentucky-based hospital system’s first medical center north of the Ohio River.
About 75 people will work in the 25,000-square-foot structure near the Interstate 275 exit to U.S. 50 in the city of Greendale, Ind., including about 15 doctors employed by Edgewood-based St. Elizabeth Physicians.
The multimillion-dollar building at 1640 Flossie Drive in Dearborn County will feature a multispecialty physician center as well as expanded primary care and urgent care services.
“Our goal is to increase patient access,” said Jacob Bast, chief operating officer of St. Elizabeth Physicians. “This facility further supports our commitment to connecting patients to their primary care provider and coordinating care with other specialists and health care services.”
Six to eight specialists will rotate into the facility on a part-time basis, with two specialists there at any given time.
Specialty rotations will include neurology, spine and pain management, behavioral health, podiatry, endocrinology, dermatology, and weight management. St. Elizabeth expects to add other specialties in the future.
The building will be staffed by six primary care providers, including doctors and some nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Two providers and will staff the urgent care facility there 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weeknights and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Construction began in November 2016. St. Elizabeth partnered on the project with Anchor Health Properties of Delaware. Champlin Architecture of downtown Cincinnati handled the project’s design. Maxwell Construction Co. of Greendale is general contractor.
The building was designed and constructed with some unfinished shell space that will allow for future growth.
The site is between Lawrenceburg and Hidden Valley Lake. It’s also close to the western Hamilton County communities of Miami Township, Whitewater Township, Cleves and North Bend.
St. Elizabeth Physicians employs more than 500 providers at 117 locations, including 372 doctors and 146 advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, behavioral health therapists and certified nurse midwives.
The group’s doctors already work out of the Hidden Valley office of St. Elizabeth Physicians, which also has primary care offices in Dillsboro and Aurora.
The physician group is the third largest in Greater Cincinnati, according to Business Courier research. SEP serves more than 315,000 patients in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
